a quick biography and history

sit. stay. good dog! was opened in Miami, Florida as Four on the Floor in April of 2006. We changed our name when Lynn Rachkiss, owner, moved to Mississippi. The company name now matches the website name- it just seemed to make more sense that way! Lynn has been formally training dogs for more than four years and informally for more than twenty through volunteer work. She is a member of The Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and served as Recording Secretary of the South Dade Kennel Club (SDKC). She held Puppy Kindergarten, Basic, and Advanced courses for the SDKC at Miami Dade College Kendall and Homestead campuses. Educated in canine and feline nutrition, Lynn is featured on two Revodition DVD's- "Dogs- Choosing, Caring, and Training" and "Cats- Choosing, Caring, and Training." Active in the community, Lynn has volunteered time to speak on nutrition and training to dog enthusiast meet-up groups. In March of 2007,she presented "Dog Safety for Children" to some 350 prosepective child care providers at the Miami Dade College Early Childhood Career Day.

for the dogs, for the family

Sit. Stay. Good Dog! was formed when the owner realized that a number of wonderful dogs were falling through the cracks of group training. While some dogs and puppies do well in group classes, many others are too nervous, too excited, or too shy to perform. All too often, aggressive  dogs are simply turned away at the door as unfit to participate in group instruction. All dogs and puppies deserve the quality of training that will make them welcome members of their pack. Four on the Floor is dedicated to keeping dogs in their homes. We use positive reinforcement methods of training, shunning forms of training that rely on pain and bullying. We are also dedicated to keeping training affordable. We offer multi-lesson training packages and low-cost refresher training.

effective and humane

Sit. Stay. Good Dog!  trains exclusively with humane  positive reinforcement techniques that  is leaps forward in dog training effectiveness  compared to previous methods of training using choke-chains, pop-and-jerk negative reinforcement, and other extreme methods involving pain and discomfort.  Positive reinforcement teaches a dog what she can do and quickly eliminates unwanted behaviors by replacing bad behavior with good behavior.  Call or email us today and let us show you a new way to train your dog.
