aggression and dominance
OK, it was cute when Pooky growled over a rope toy when she was a puppy and weighed 5 pounds. It's not cute when Pooky, at 60 pounds, shows her teeth when told to get off the bed. It is certainly no fun to get a phone call from the groomer to come and get your unruly dog because he refuses to be brushed or have his nails trimmed. Even worse is the dog who can't be taken around other dogs or strangers because of the fear that she may very well bite. Fortunately, in most cases aggression or dominance is a learned behavior. If Pooky learned how to smile when she doesn't want to do something, she can be taught a new behavior to replace the undesired one. From raiding the garbage can and chewing shoes to counter-surfing and resource guarding, we can help. With the proper guidance and a few changes around the house, your dog can be a balanced, welcome member of the family. Sit. Stay. Good Dog! is dedicated to keeping dogs in their homes. In severe cases, an intense rehabilitation program may be necessary. If you, or any member of your family is scared of your dog, call us immediately. Rest assured, we will be there and do all we can to help.
